Why Bus Rollover Crashes Can Result in Severe Injuries
Bus rollover crashes can lead to serious injuries because passengers may be thrown against the interior of the vehicle or experience multiple impacts during the rollover. The size and weight of buses also create unique challenges for emergency responders during rescue operations.
After these incidents, responders focus on safely removing passengers, assessing injuries, and stabilizing the scene. Investigators may review vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and other physical evidence to determine how the rollover occurred. Temporary road closures are common while emergency crews assist patients and remove the overturned vehicle.
