Franklin Co, WA (January 21, 2026) – A serious head-on crash involving a car and a semi-truck closed Highway 260 in both directions on Tuesday evening, about two miles east of the Highway 17 intersection near Connell.
The collision occurred around 4:50 p.m. and prompted a large-scale emergency response. Early reports from the scene indicated that a woman was trapped inside the car following the impact and was bleeding, though she remained conscious as rescue crews arrived. Firefighters and medics worked to extricate her from the wreckage and provided immediate medical care.
Due to the severity of the crash and the involvement of a commercial vehicle, both directions of Highway 260 were shut down, and traffic was diverted to alternate routes while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
The current condition of the injured woman has not been officially released, and no information has been provided regarding the driver of the semi.
Washington State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the collision.
Our thoughts are with the injured woman and all those affected by this serious crash, and we hope for her full and swift recovery.
