Fremont, CA (January 4, 2026) – A bicyclist was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon in a collision involving a semi-truck at the intersection of Auto Mall Parkway and Osgood Road in Fremont. Local authorities responded quickly to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a commercial vehicle and a cyclist.
Emergency responders from Fremont Fire and Police worked to assist the cyclist, who had suffered critical injuries after crashing into the side of the turning semi-truck. Despite their immediate efforts, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:18 p.m. According to preliminary findings from investigators, the semi-truck was heading north on Osgood Rd and was attempting a left-hand turn into a business parking lot. At that moment, the southbound bicyclist collided with the driver’s side of the turning vehicle.
The driver of the big rig remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to have been factors in the crash. The identity of the deceased bicyclist has not yet been made public, pending notification of next of kin.
