What Factors Are Often Involved in Multi-Vehicle DUI Crashes After Police Pursuits?
Multi-vehicle crashes involving suspected impaired driving and police pursuits often occur at intersections where traffic movement is complex. High speed combined with reduced reaction time can increase the likelihood of a collision.
Impairment can affect judgment, coordination, and the ability to respond to traffic signals or other vehicles. These effects may become more dangerous during evasive driving or sudden route changes.
Pursuit situations can also add pressure to driving decisions, increasing risk in populated areas. Intersections with multiple lanes or turning traffic may further increase the chances of a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles.
