Why Minibike Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Minibike crashes can lead to serious injuries because riders have less protection than people inside cars. A rider may be exposed to the force of impact, the roadway, or parts of another vehicle during a collision.
Intersections can add risk for smaller vehicles and riders. Cars may be turning, stopping, or moving through lanes at the same time. Size differences can also make minibikes harder to see in traffic, especially during evening hours.
Medical teams often check young riders for head, chest, back, and leg injuries after a crash. Even when the impact appears limited to one side of a vehicle, the force can still cause serious harm. Helmet use, speed, visibility, and roadway layout may affect injury severity.
