Grand Island, NE (February 21, 2026) – Two people were taken to the hospital early Friday after a crash involving a semi and an SUV on Highway 30 in Grand Island.
The collision occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 30 and Shady Bend Road. Police said the semi was heading west when it attempted to make a left turn and collided with an eastbound SUV.
Both people inside the SUV were injured and transported to a nearby hospital. Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. Authorities cited the semi driver for failure to yield during the turn.
Traffic in the area was affected as emergency crews cleared the scene and assessed the vehicles. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
