Montcalm County, MI (May 30, 2026) – A 20-year-old Grand Rapids man was seriously injured Friday after his motorcycle struck the rear of a semi-truck along Interstate 96 near mile marker 78 in Montcalm County.
According to preliminary findings, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the rider attempted to pass the truck. During the maneuver, the bike struck the rear of the larger vehicle before colliding with a cable barrier.
The rider was then thrown into the westbound median. Emergency units took the man to a hospital in Lansing for treatment of serious injuries.
