How Bus Collisions Can Impact Road Safety
Accidents involving buses and smaller vehicles can be especially dangerous because of the bus’s size and weight. Passengers in the smaller vehicle are more vulnerable to serious injuries due to the force of impact.
Secondary hazards, such as broken utility lines or debris, can add risks for first responders and nearby motorists. Emergency crews focus on securing the scene, providing medical attention, and clearing hazards to prevent further accidents.
Investigators review the vehicles’ positions, traffic conditions, and witness accounts to determine how the crash occurred and to help improve roadway safety.
