Why Bus Collisions Can Cause Widespread Damage
Crashes involving buses can impact multiple vehicles and nearby infrastructure because of the size and weight of the bus. Even collisions at lower speeds can damage poles, utilities, or nearby structures.
Passengers and other drivers can be injured when vehicles are struck or forced to take evasive action. Emergency responders must carefully manage the scene to address injuries, restore traffic flow, and repair infrastructure like water mains.
Awareness, careful driving, and attention to traffic signals are essential for preventing accidents in areas where large transit vehicles operate.
