What Factors Can Complicate Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Major Routes?
Arterial roads near Route 41 and Ferndale Street often carry steady traffic volumes throughout the day. When a crash occurs in Gurnee, responders may need to close lanes while managing multiple vehicles and injured occupants.
Crashes involving several vehicles can lead to a wide spread of damage across the roadway. This can make it more difficult for crews to reach each vehicle quickly and assess everyone involved.
In cases where a vehicle overturns, additional safety concerns may arise. Emergency teams often work carefully to stabilize vehicles, assist injured people, and clear debris before traffic can safely resume.
