Hamden, CT (March 21, 2026) – A 32-year-old man lost his life following an industrial accident on Thursday morning, March 19, at a facility on State Street. Emergency units were called around 7 a.m. to the 2895 block of the street after reports of a worker trapped in heavy machinery.
The incident occurred at an industrial yard where the man had been working with a large piece of commercial metal equipment. Responders arrived to find him caught inside a gravel machine and in cardiac arrest. Crews worked to free him and attempted life-saving efforts, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate the man was tending to the equipment when the accident happened. Officials reported that the cause of death was linked to traumatic asphyxiation. His identity has not yet been released.
