What Happens in Multi-Vehicle Motorcycle Crashes
Crashes involving motorcycles and multiple vehicles can become complex due to the number of impacts. A rider may come into contact with more than one vehicle in a short amount of time.
Motorcycles have less protection than enclosed vehicles, which can increase the risk of serious injury. The direction of travel and positioning of vehicles can affect how the crash unfolds.
Road conditions, traffic flow, and reaction time all play a role in these incidents. Multiple points of impact can lead to more severe outcomes.
