How Left-Turn Collisions Affect Motorcyclists
Motorcyclists are especially vulnerable during left-turn collisions. Drivers may misjudge the speed or distance of an approaching motorcycle.
When a vehicle turns across a rider’s path, there may be little time to avoid impact. These crashes often occur at intersections with multiple lanes.
Road position, visibility, and timing all influence how these incidents happen. The lack of protection for riders can increase the severity of injuries.
