What Risks Are Associated With Pedestrian Crossings on Busy Roads?
Pedestrian crashes can occur when people attempt to cross roadways with active traffic. Drivers may not have enough time to react, especially at night or on roads with higher speeds.
Crossing outside of marked areas can increase the risk of being struck. Visibility and timing both play a role in how safely pedestrians can navigate traffic.
Traffic flow, lighting conditions, and driver awareness all affect these situations. Even a short crossing can become dangerous under certain conditions.
