Hermosa Beach, CA (January 14, 2026) – A man riding an e-bike sustained major injuries Monday night after being struck by a vehicle on the Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach. The collision occurred around 7:00 p.m. on January 12 in the 1800 block of PCH, according to the Hermosa Beach Police Department.
Investigators determined that the driver involved had swerved into the center lane to avoid stopped traffic when they collided with the cyclist. The impact left the e-bike rider with serious injuries. Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. No citations or arrests have been reported at this time.
The Hermosa Beach Police Department continues to investigate the incident to determine whether additional factors contributed to the crash.
