Hernshaw, WV (January 20, 2026) – A serious collision involving a coal truck and a passenger vehicle left one person injured Monday afternoon in the Hernshaw area of Kanawha County, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the 4700 block of Lens Creek Road. Deputies reported that the impact left one occupant trapped inside their vehicle. First responders worked quickly to extricate the individual, who was then transported to Charleston for medical treatment. The extent of the person’s injuries has not yet been publicly released.
The roadway was temporarily shut down as emergency personnel managed the scene and conducted rescue operations. All lanes have since been reopened.
