Why Turning Across Traffic Can Lead to Motorcycle Crashes
Intersections near State Highway 24 often involve vehicles entering or crossing busy roadways. When a serious crash occurs in the Heyburn area, responders typically work to secure the scene while assisting those involved.
Motorcycles are smaller and can be harder for drivers to see, especially when turning across traffic. Misjudging distance or speed can lead to a collision in a short amount of time.
Even when safety gear is used, motorcycle crashes can result in severe outcomes due to the lack of protection. Road layout, timing of turns, and driver awareness all affect how safely vehicles and motorcycles share the road.
