Allen County, OH (July 16, 2026) – A woman was seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Deep Cut Rd and Defiance Trl in Allen County on July 14.
The two-vehicle crash happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. when a Jeep Compass traveling west on Deep Cut Rd was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound Jeep Patriot. According to investigators, 24-year-old Grace Cook of Lima was driving the Compass when the other driver entered the intersection without stopping.
Cook was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other driver, identified as 29-year-old Caleb Hembree of Lima, was not hurt. Initial findings indicate Hembree failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering the intersection.
Further details about the collision have not been released as the review continues. The cause of the wreck remains under examination, and additional information may be released as more facts are confirmed.
