Los Angeles, CA (July 28, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision with reported injuries occurred on July 26 along northbound I-405 just south of W Arbor Vitae St in Los Angeles, causing significant lane closures and traffic delays.
According to dispatch information, the crash was reported shortly after 8:15 a.m. and involved a black SUV, a gray Toyota Tacoma, and two additional vehicles. Early reports indicated that the SUV rolled over multiple times and may have come to rest on its roof in the middle lanes. A male driver and a child were able to get out of the SUV, while another report stated the driver walked to the right shoulder after the collision.
Emergency units were sent to the freeway after the crash was upgraded to an injury response. The damaged Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the wreck required towing, and several northbound lanes were temporarily blocked while crews worked to clear the roadway. By around 8:42 a.m., the HOV lane, along with lanes one and two, had reopened, while the slow lane remained partially blocked as cleanup continued.
The extent of the reported injuries has not been released, and the people involved have not yet been publicly identified. The cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
