Isleta, NM (April 15, 2026) – Multiple crashes caused significant traffic delays Sunday on Interstate 25 just south of Albuquerque.
According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, the collisions occurred in the northbound lanes between Coors Blvd and Broadway Blvd.
Emergency crews responded to the scene following reports of injuries. Authorities confirmed that multiple individuals were hurt, though the number of victims and severity of injuries have not yet been released. Only one lane of traffic remained open as responders worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway.
Motorists in the area experienced heavy delays and were urged to use caution while traveling through the scene. The crashes remain under investigation, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
We are thinking of those injured and wish them a full recovery.
How Multiple Crashes Can Compound Injuries and Traffic Issues
When several crashes occur in the same area, the risk of injury can increase due to repeated collisions.
Drivers approaching an existing crash scene may not have enough time to react, leading to secondary impacts.
These situations often require extended emergency response and can significantly disrupt traffic flow.
