Jefferson County, MO (May 16, 2026) – Two people were injured Friday evening after a single-vehicle crash along northbound Rte C north of White Rd in Jefferson County.
The accident occurred at about 7:47 p.m. on Friday, May 15. According to the crash report, a 2016 Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on State Route C when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The 21-year-old driver from Dittmer suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South by ambulance. A 20-year-old passenger from De Soto sustained serious injuries and was also transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.
The vehicle sustained total damage and was removed from the scene by a towing company.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
What Investigators Often Examine After a Vehicle Leaves the Roadway
When a vehicle travels off the roadway, investigators usually review speed, roadway layout, and driver control prior to the crash. Curves, uneven surfaces, and changing road conditions can affect how a vehicle responds at higher speeds.
Skid marks and tire tracks are commonly examined to determine how the vehicle moved before impact. In some crashes, investigators may also assess whether the vehicle became unstable after leaving the pavement or encountering roadside terrain.
Airborne crashes can lead to severe damage because vehicles may strike trees, embankments, or other elevated objects with significant force. Seat belt use, impact points, and interior damage are often reviewed to help explain how occupants were injured during the collision.
