Why Intersections Can Be Risky for Multi-Vehicle Collisions
Intersections often see crashes because vehicles are entering, exiting, or turning at the same time. Drivers may misjudge the speed or position of others, especially when multiple lanes or traffic signals are involved.
Even low-speed collisions can result in overturned vehicles or significant damage, particularly for SUVs, which have a higher center of gravity. Police and emergency vehicles are also at risk during routine travel, adding complexity to intersection crashes.
Quick response by emergency crews and proper vehicle safety measures help reduce the severity of injuries when collisions occur at intersections.
