Kent Co, MI (January 16, 2026) – A 45-year-old woman from Cedar Springs was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle on 17 Mile Road NE in Kent County on the evening of January 15. The fatal pedestrian crash occurred just east of Ritchie Avenue NE around 6:30 p.m., according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that the woman had been walking along the roadway when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Her identity has not been publicly released pending notification of her family.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is said to be cooperating fully with investigators. No additional information regarding speed, impairment, or other contributing factors has been released at this time. The crash remains under active investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
