La Jolla, CA (January 9, 2026) – A motor vehicle collision early Monday morning in La Jolla resulted in two people being transported to the hospital with injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:56 a.m. on January 8 near Genesee Ave. According to emergency dispatch reports, the crash took place at an estimated speed of 35 to 40 miles per hour. Airbags deployed upon impact, and both individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Paramedics with La Jolla Medic 38 responded to the scene and treated two adults who reported right knee pain. Neither party sustained major trauma or experienced a loss of consciousness. Both were taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for further evaluation.
No additional details regarding the cause of the crash or the number of vehicles involved have been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
