What Often Leads to Left-Turn Motorcycle Crashes at Intersections?
Left-turn collisions are among the most common types of motorcycle crashes at intersections. They often occur when a driver misjudges the speed or distance of an approaching motorcycle.
Visibility can also play a role. Motorcycles are smaller than passenger vehicles, which can make them harder to see, especially in heavy traffic or complex intersections.
Timing and decision-making are other key factors. Drivers may begin a turn when they believe the path is clear, but even a brief miscalculation can have serious consequences when another vehicle is approaching at speed.
