Las Vegas, NV (March 7, 2026) – Two pedestrians were injured on Friday evening, March 6, after being struck by a vehicle on South Las Vegas Boulevard, south of East Flamingo Road on the Las Vegas Strip.
The incident occurred at about 5:24 p.m. The police reported that a 2015 Toyota Camry had been involved in a minor collision with another vehicle while exiting a private drive along the boulevard.
According to investigators, two pedestrians were walking north on the east sidewalk and were crossing the driveway in a marked crosswalk when the driver of the Toyota backed up to clear traffic congestion. The rear of the vehicle struck both pedestrians and pinned them underneath.
Several bystanders helped lift the sedan to free the pedestrians. Emergency units transported both individuals to a nearby hospital. One suffered critical injuries, while the other was reported to have less severe injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
Our thoughts are with the injured as they receive treatment and care.
Pedestrian Risks in High-Traffic Tourist Areas
Busy tourist corridors often bring heavy foot traffic alongside frequent vehicle movement. In areas like entertainment districts, pedestrians regularly cross driveways, parking entrances, and side streets while vehicles are entering or leaving nearby properties.
Crashes can occur when drivers focus on surrounding traffic and fail to notice people in crosswalks or on sidewalks. Backing vehicles can create additional danger because the driver’s visibility is often reduced behind the car.
Marked crosswalks are designed to provide a safer crossing point, but both drivers and pedestrians still need to remain alert. High traffic volumes and congestion can increase the chances of accidents, especially in areas where vehicles are maneuvering in tight spaces.
