Injury Risks in Semi-Truck and Car Collisions
Crashes between semi-trucks and cars can lead to serious injuries because of the size and weight difference between the vehicles. Even when injuries are not life-threatening, a car driver may still suffer pain, bruising, or other harm from the impact.
Interstate crashes can develop quickly because vehicles often travel at higher speeds. Lane changes, merging traffic, and nearby commercial vehicles can affect how much time drivers have to react. Damage patterns and final vehicle positions may later help explain how the collision occurred.
When a crash does not fully block an interstate, traffic may still slow near the scene. Drivers may encounter emergency units, damaged vehicles, or lane restrictions. Extra space and reduced speed can help lower the risk of another crash nearby.
