What Is Reviewed After a Fatal Highway Crash
Fatal crashes on highways often involve a detailed review of how the vehicles were moving before impact. Investigators may look at speed, lane position, and any sudden changes that occurred just before the collision.
The final positions of the vehicles and any debris on the roadway can provide insight into how the crash unfolded. In some cases, a person may be ejected or separated from a vehicle, which can indicate the force of impact.
Road conditions and visibility at the time are also considered. These factors can affect how drivers respond and may contribute to the severity of the crash.
