Why Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Crashes Can Be Especially Dangerous
Motorcyclists face a higher risk of serious injury during collisions because they lack the structural protection available in passenger vehicles. Even relatively low-speed impacts can result in significant harm.
Hit-and-run crashes can further complicate investigations because responders may initially have limited information about the vehicle that left the scene. Witness accounts, roadway evidence, and traffic camera footage are often reviewed to help identify the driver involved.
Freeway ramps and merging areas can also increase crash risks due to changing traffic patterns and limited space for riders to maneuver safely.
