Fresno, CA (July 9, 2026) – A head-on traffic collision resulting in major injuries was reported on Thursday morning at the intersection of South Maple Avenue and East American Avenue in Fresno County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log, the collision was reported at approximately 10:53 a.m. Initial information indicated a silver Mitsubishi SUV collided head-on with a white Ford pickup truck pulling a horse trailer. The dispatch log stated the Mitsubishi crossed the center line before the collision, and both vehicles came to rest in a nearby yard.
Emergency units arrived at the intersection and determined the two-vehicle collision involved major injuries. Dispatch records indicate everyone involved was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged Mitsubishi Outlander and other vehicles from the roadway.
The identities of those involved have not been released. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
