What Is Typically Examined in Residential Fire Deaths
When a fatal house fire occurs, investigators often review the fire’s origin and spread to determine how it started and how quickly it spread. This can include examining electrical systems, heating sources, and any materials that may have contributed to the fire’s intensity.
Fire crews also document conditions inside and outside the structure, including damage patterns and points of entry or exit. These observations can help reconstruct the sequence of events.
In many cases, autopsy results and laboratory analyses are used alongside evidence from the scene to provide a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding the fire.
