Bus and Large Vehicle Crash Safety and Awareness
Crashes involving buses and large passenger vehicles can result in multiple injuries due to the number of occupants involved and the potential for passengers to be thrown during impact. Broken glass and unsecured items inside vehicles can also contribute to injuries during sudden collisions.
Drivers operating larger vehicles are encouraged to travel at safe speeds and remain cautious on local roadways, especially when transporting large groups of passengers. Passengers should also remain seated whenever possible while vehicles are in motion to reduce injury risks during unexpected incidents.
Emergency responders remind motorists to slow down and avoid active crash scenes so crews can safely assist victims and investigate the collision. Authorities continue to investigate the Manquin party bus crash.
