Our condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones.
Common Safety Issues in Crashes Involving Semi-Trucks
Crashes involving semi-trucks can cause severe injuries because of the size and weight difference between vehicles. A pickup truck is much smaller than a loaded commercial truck, so the force of impact can be extreme. When more than one large truck is involved, the crash scene can become more complex.
Lane changes are a common factor reviewed after highway collisions. Drivers may have limited time to react when vehicles move across lanes at interstate speeds. Blind spots, traffic flow, and spacing between vehicles can also affect the outcome.
Seat belt use can strongly affect injury severity in a crash. Ejection from a vehicle often leads to fatal injuries because the person loses the protection of the vehicle cabin.
