Why Motorcycle Crashes on Interstates Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Motorcycle accidents on busy interstates often result in severe injuries because riders have less protection than people inside passenger vehicles. High travel speeds, sudden lane changes, and limited reaction time can increase the force of impact during a crash.
Traffic congestion can also create dangerous conditions for motorcyclists. When lanes become blocked or vehicles slow unexpectedly, riders may have little space to avoid a collision. Morning commute traffic can make these situations even more difficult.
In many interstate motorcycle crashes, emergency responders review roadway conditions, traffic flow, and vehicle positioning to help determine how the accident unfolded. Damage to the motorcycles and skid marks on the roadway may also provide additional context about the moments leading up to the collision.
