Meriden, CT (January 30, 2026) – A 14-year-old was injured Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of West Main Street and Home Avenue, according to Meriden police.
The incident occurred as the teen was walking through the intersection when they were hit by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided medical assistance at the scene. The teen was then transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Fortunately, the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police stated that the driver involved remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed, and the crash remains under review to determine the exact circumstances.
This section of West Main Street is a well-traveled route for both pedestrians and drivers, particularly during evening hours. Officials have not indicated whether additional traffic safety measures will be considered in response to the incident.
