Milford, CT (January 10, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer, a tow truck, and another vehicle on January 9 along Old Gate Ln near the Secondi truck stop. The collision occurred around 9:40 a.m. and left the tow truck driver trapped inside the vehicle, requiring extrication by Milford Fire Department personnel.
Firefighters were able to access the driver’s side door and provide medical care on scene. A total of three individuals were evaluated at the site, and one was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as minor.
The crash also led to a hazardous materials response due to approximately 20 gallons of fluid leaking from the vehicles. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified, though officials confirmed that no waterways were impacted.
Old Gate Ln was temporarily shut down while crews cleared the wreckage and handled the spill, but the roadway has since been reopened. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
We send our best wishes to those involved and hope for a quick and full recovery for the injured individual.
