Why Minor Injury Crashes Still Require Investigation
Even when injuries are initially reported as minor, law enforcement officers document the scene to determine how the collision occurred. Investigators may examine vehicle damage, roadway conditions, debris, and statements from the drivers or witnesses to establish the sequence of events.
These investigations help determine whether traffic violations or other contributing factors played a role in the crash. Drivers involved in collisions with reported injuries are encouraged to seek medical evaluation, as some injuries may not become apparent until hours after the incident.
