What Factors Are Often Examined in Highway Intersection Crashes?
Highway intersection crashes often require investigators to examine vehicle speed, visibility, and right-of-way conditions. When multiple vehicles enter an intersection at the same time, even small miscalculations can lead to serious collisions.
Investigators commonly review traffic signals, roadway markings, and driver reaction times to understand how the crash developed. Vehicle damage patterns can help determine the angle and force of impact. In some cases, roadway design and sight distance are also evaluated, especially in rural highway intersections where speeds are higher. Medical reports and witness statements may later provide additional clarity on how the collision occurred.
