What Factors Are Reviewed After Rear-End Collisions Involving Emergency Vehicles?
Rear-end crashes involving emergency vehicles can lead to serious injuries, especially when one of the vehicles is stopped or moving slowly at the time of impact. In many cases, investigators review roadway conditions, traffic flow, visibility, and the speed of the vehicles involved.
Damage to both vehicles may also help show how the collision occurred. Skid marks, debris patterns, and camera footage from nearby businesses or traffic systems are sometimes examined during the review process.
Medical reports can also provide more information about the severity of injuries connected to the crash. In situations involving patrol vehicles, investigators may additionally review whether emergency lights were active and where the vehicle was positioned before the accident occurred.
