Nashville, TN (January 13, 2026) – An accident resulting in injuries was reported Tuesday morning near Exit 16A on Briley Pkwy E, in the northbound lanes of I-65 heading toward Louisville.
The crash occurred around 8:11 a.m., a peak traffic time for the busy East Nashville corridor. Emergency responders from Nashville Fire and Rescue arrived promptly at the scene and worked to assist individuals hurt in the collision. Several victims were evaluated for a variety of injuries, with some transported to area hospitals for further medical care.
Authorities confirmed that the incident caused traffic disruptions on the interstate near the Briley Pkwy connector. Although the total number of vehicles involved has not been confirmed, the crash significantly impacted the morning commute and prompted partial lane closures.
Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department initiated an investigation on-site. They are expected to review roadway conditions, vehicle damage, and potential contributing factors such as driver distraction or speed.
