Nodaway, MO (January 7, 2026) – Three individuals suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning in a rollover crash along westbound US-136, approximately three miles west of Burlington Junction, after a pickup truck hit black ice and overturned.
The accident occurred around 7:29 a.m. and involved a 2022 RAM 3500 traveling west on US-136. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of the vehicle after striking a patch of black ice. The truck crossed the center line, veered off the south side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned—ultimately coming to rest on its passenger side and partially blocking the eastbound lane.
The driver, a 41-year-old man from Springfield, MO, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained injuries. Two passengers—a 25-year-old man from Galena, MO, and a 34-year-old man from Roby, MO—were also injured. While the younger occupant had been wearing a seatbelt, the older male was reportedly unrestrained. All three were evaluated at the scene by Nodaway County EMS but refused transport to the hospital.
The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Kizer’s. The incident was investigated by Tpr. C.P. Justice, with assistance from Tpr. N.M. Newland and the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department.
We send our best wishes to both individuals for a full and speedy recovery.
