North Mankato, MN (January 18, 2026) – An injury accident occurred on Saturday morning involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 169 at Webster Ave in North Mankato, prompting a joint response from local police and EMS personnel.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place around 9:07 a.m. on January 17. A 2025 Freightliner straight truck and a 2014 Nissan Altima were both traveling northbound on US-169 when they collided for reasons still under investigation. First responders, including the North Mankato Police Department and MCHS Ambulance, arrived at the scene to assist the parties involved.
The driver of the Freightliner, 26-year-old Tyriq Lamar Jessie Lofland of Fridley, was reportedly unharmed and did not require medical transport. The driver of the Altima, 54-year-old Odogi Ogey Omot of Mankato, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to MCHS for further evaluation and treatment.
Airbags did not deploy in either vehicle, but both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. No alcohol involvement was reported. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
