Oakland Park, FL (January 14, 2026) – A traffic collision early Wednesday morning on I-95 South in Broward County left multiple people injured and caused a full blockage of the express lanes near Cypress Rd.
The crash was reported around 7:21 a.m. just south of the Cypress Rd area near mile marker 33. Emergency crews, including paramedics and fire rescue units, responded to the scene and provided immediate care to those injured. At least one person was transported to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, all southbound express lanes were shut down for a period of time, significantly impacting traffic flow during the morning rush. Motorists in the area experienced substantial delays as responders worked to assess injuries, clear the wreckage, and begin an investigation into the cause of the collision.
Details surrounding the number of vehicles involved or the nature of the crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether speed, congestion, or unsafe lane changes were contributing factors.
The express lanes have since reopened after crews completed on-site cleanup and inspections.
