Omaha, NE (January 15, 2026) – A hit-and-run collision involving injuries was reported Wednesday afternoon near South 84th Street and K Street, just north of L Street in Omaha. The crash, which occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m., involved at least two vehicles and led to a search for a fleeing suspect.
According to dispatch communications, a red sedan allegedly struck a white work van before fleeing the scene heading southbound. A second report mentioned a white truck in the area, though that vehicle did not stop, and contact with the driver was not made. It remains unclear whether both vehicles were involved or if the second sighting was unrelated.
Authorities were initially unable to locate any vehicles upon arriving at the scene, which complicated efforts to assess the full extent of the crash. One or more individuals were believed to have sustained injuries, though the severity has not yet been confirmed.
Investigators continue working to identify the fleeing driver and piece together the details of the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Omaha Police.
We send our best wishes to those impacted by this incident and hope for a full recovery for anyone injured in the crash.
