Why Motorcycle vs. SUV Collisions Often Lead to Severe Injuries
Crashes involving motorcycles and larger vehicles like SUVs often result in serious injuries due to the difference in size and protection. Even when helmets are worn, riders can be thrown from their motorcycles during impact, increasing the risk of trauma.
Intersections are common locations for these types of collisions because vehicles may be turning, crossing lanes, or misjudging oncoming traffic. Speed, visibility, and reaction time can all play a role in how the crash unfolds.
Investigators typically examine vehicle positions, traffic signals, and roadway conditions to determine how the collision occurred. These details help clarify how the motorcycle and SUV entered the same path at the intersection.
