Panola County, MS (May 3, 2026) – A pedestrian died after being struck in a hit-and-run crash early on Saturday morning, May 2, on Interstate 55 in Panola County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1 a.m. just north of the Sardis exit. A pedestrian was hit by a passing vehicle and later died from their injuries.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a white, late-model Toyota Camry with damage to the front driver’s side. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating the car involved.
