Omaha, NE (January 26, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred on Saturday evening on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the Giles Road interchange, resulting in both vehicles coming to rest in the median.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:40 p.m., prompting an emergency response to the busy stretch of freeway. Responding units arrived to find two damaged vehicles in the grassy center divide, with at least one person requiring medical attention.
Paramedics provided on-site care to the injured parties, though the extent of injuries has not yet been publicly released. Traffic along the westbound lanes was slowed as crews worked to secure the area and begin clearing the roadway.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, which occurred during evening travel hours when congestion and reduced visibility often contribute to freeway accidents.
We hope for a full recovery for those hurt in this incident and thank the responders for their swift assistance.
