Marrero, LA (June 7, 2026) – A man was killed on Friday night after being hit by two vehicles on the eastbound lanes of Westbank Expressway near Garden Road.
State police reported the pedestrian was wearing dark-colored clothing and was crossing the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90 Business shortly after 9 p.m. He was first struck by a 2016 Nissan Rogue and then by a 2016 Honda HR-V traveling in the same direction. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were unharmed. Police do not suspect impairment in either driver, though routine toxicology tests were collected.
