Fontana, CA (July 16, 2026) – One person lost their life in a collision involving a semi-truck and a black Honda Accord early Wednesday morning on San Bernardino Ave near Redwood Ave, just east of Cherry Ave.
Initial reports indicated the Honda became lodged underneath the trailer of a white semi-truck, blocking the roadway. Fire personnel worked to extricate the occupants from the passenger vehicle, which was reported to be wedged beneath the trailer.
The semi-truck driver was reported to have escaped without injuries, while a fatality was later confirmed. The number of occupants inside the Honda was not immediately established, and no identities had been released at the time of publication.
San Bernardino Ave was closed between Cherry Ave and Live Oak Ave while the roadway remained blocked. The circumstances surrounding the fatal accident continue to be examined as additional information becomes available.
