Understanding the Risks of Multi-Vehicle Highway Collisions
Highways with high traffic volumes can become especially dangerous when multiple large vehicles are involved. Semi-trailers require longer stopping distances and can create blind spots that reduce visibility for passenger cars. Sudden lane changes, braking, or merging near trucks can increase the likelihood of collisions.
Weather, roadway conditions, and traffic density all play a role in how a chain-reaction crash might unfold. Even small misjudgments in timing or spacing can lead to serious outcomes, highlighting the importance of maintaining safe distances and paying close attention when traveling near large commercial vehicles.
